Apple a Day

We went to Anderson Apple Orchard yesterday afternoon as a family activity. It's something we do every year and the kids love it. The apples are much better off the tree than from the store. You get to wander through the orchard and pick the apples right off the trees. You can pick a variety of apples, whatever kinds you think look and taste good. The kids have fun picking apples and trying them out. Before we decided to pick from a certain row, we pulled off a good looking apple and all took bites and then whoever wanted it could finish it off. I think, except for Eric, we all ate about two apples each. When we were done, we'd throw the core under whatever tree was nearby.
Here are a few pictures of our adventure. Eric lifted each of the kids up to the tops of the trees to pick the best looking ones. They liked being up so high and took turns. Neta got tired after a while and just decided to lay down with her apple. We ate so many apples, we were full, but had to get something solid in our stomachs, like meat, so we stopped at Burger King before getting home.

Way up in the treetops

Victorious!

Apple pickers pooped out
Flexing Daddy muscles. Next year, Xela might be too heavy

"Try this one Daddy!"
Little too sour for him, apparently.

"Look! Seeds Mommy!"

Graigry's picks a perfect apple

"How about this one?"

Mommies just love to take pictures like this

  1. I love that last picture. I have one like that of Corey walking with Melodie toward a hill in winter time when we all went sledding. What good husbands we have. What good Dads. Love ya, Moo!
